9 Days of vocal work

I would like to introduce my new friend the elefante... He is a cool air humidifier that I got from one of my best friend for Christmas. She did not understand why I asked for that but months ago Jenni told me they are good for your vocal cords. It is so dry here!! So freakin CUTE!! I love it! Thank you Ale!! x o


Technical Concepts - Today I did 2 different vocal warm-ups from a Kurt recording. I worked on the vi-ve-va-vo-vu scales multiple times because it felt really helpful. I also worked really hard on connecting down to the bottom/chest voice. It is hard for me to go back down there once I go up high.
40 Minutes

Repertoire I worked on Stepsisters Lament and Here's Where I Stand. I also worked on Be Still but found it really hard to follow the recording I did with Paul... Needed the music in my hands to follow along which probably just means I don't know the music very well!! :( I even sang these in front of my sweetie :)
45 Minutes 

Successes: I had a lot of fun playing around with Here's Where I Stand. I just kinda sang like a crazy person to see what sounded good!

Notes: I really need to decide for sure what song I wanna learn!! Too many good song... don't think I can learn them all or I will probably spread myself to thin.

Healthy Eating

Meal Description – Today I had a smoothie before Yoga and that is super healthy anyday! For dinner I had Ravioli with a homemade Diavolo sauce and a spinach salad... Very tasty! and healthy... in my opinion. George says it is not!

Restaurant or Market – Costco, Smith's, Trader Joe's

Rating  ***** for all the food from today!

Here is the smoothie and the evil frozen blueberry that ran off the counter and smashed my toe surprisingly HARD! It actually really hurt!!

 

Dance/Personal Fitness

Date/time - Today January, 9th

Type of class – Vinyasa Yoga

Difficulty Level - Advanced!

Studio and Instructor (Include Photo) – Allisun took them on her phone and then sent them to me and for some reason they didn't come though as any image :( She even took cool ones of me in poses because she was so proud of how well I was doing them but we are going to Hot Yoga together tomorrow so I will take pics then :)

What did you most enjoy? – Today's class was so hard that I had an almost body out of body experience at one point... ha ha that sounds so silly but was true... I had emptied my brain so much and was only thinking about my breathing and that was pretty amazing.

What did you find challenging and why? – Twisted Warrior 2 was ridiculously hard today and I felt my leg lock up. I also was in a wide leg down dog and the outside of my right calf felt like it was on fire!! That is really awesome bc I know it assists in the rehab for my leg!

Observations –  She did not let us rest once today! We did not even do Savasana at the end! :(
