Day # 4!!
I am so delirious right now that I have already spelled three things wrong!! ha ha I really hope that this 1:30 in the morning is okay and counted towards yesterday (Jan. 4th) because until now I have not been home or near a computer! So hope this still works!! I was able to get so much accomplished today in my life and toward the contest! I had super healthy meals! I took two dance classes! And did tons of vocal practice! Even though I am so tired it was a well worth it day!!
Vocal practice! To and from a Tango lesson and milonga in Santa Fe i worked on my voice!!
Technical Concepts - I did a bunch Kurt's vocal warm up recordings. Two different lessons. Focused a lot on the cry baby mums.... I had a lot of tension so I tried them over and over again.... still had lots of tension tho....

30 Minutes
Repertoire - Stepsisters Lament and some of the noodley stuff in Seasons of Love.
30 Minutes
Successes I always feel pretty successful with the Stepsisters Lament... I feel comfortable and very connected character wise. I did the high C in Seasons of love pretty well... wish I could have pulled it off better when I did it in fron of people for the showcase!
Areas for improvement – I definitely could feel in my vocal cords that I did not drink water today.... super dry! Maybe that is why I couldn't seem to get some of the exercises correct?
Notes: Never deprive your poor vocal cords of water EVER AGAIN!!!!
Healthy Eating
Meal Description – Super Awesome Salad from Souper Salad! This place is a great place to eat tons of salad for a great price! I was actually super surprised at how fresh everything was too! Oh and with a student I.D. it is even cheaper :) So many veggies: Romaine, bell pepper, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, mushrooms, carrots, radishes, hard-boiled egg & ham for protein!

Date/time - January 4th, 2011 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Type of class – Jazz/Comtemporary Dance
Difficulty Level - intermediate
Studio and Instructor (Include Photo) –With Fletcher Nickerson at The Peacecraft Studio Space
What did you most enjoy? – Just dancing again! I have missed it so much. Solo dance can be so incredibly fulfilling and strengthening. It brings so much focus and purpose into your day and your body. There is nothing like it!
What did you find challenging and why? – After such a long time not in classes for jazz I was sorta rusty at Choreography so I know that is something I need to work on!
Observations – When it comes to dance... where I was two and a half years ago and where I am now... I feel so incredibly blessed & thankful for how much of it comes back to me and is still there! My legs are such and amazing work of God and of the amazing team that put them back together (Dr. Hanosh & staff). I am so overwhelmed by the results that I continually get from the efforts I put in. Although I am ridiculously immobile now and my legs hurt.... can someone say overdid it!! :(

Ridiculously posey pic of me and Fletcher.... He is a little wild but also one of the best dance teachers I have ever taken from! He had faith that I would dance again when i was in the hospital and sure enough.. I did! He was very proud to see me back today *note: tears in his eyes at one point... awwww!
*****I also danced three hours of Argentine Tango in Santa Fe tonight... hence the 2 a.m. post... Though it is not a performance dance it is incredibly useful when learning to pull apart and understand music. Also invaluable when teaching a dancer balance, improvisation, and timing!
This is outside of the plaza in Santa Fe where we were tonight!
