Day 13 of my year of singing!

Today I decided that this challenge is going to extend to a full year! Of course I wont blog about it because I am sure there will be no one to read it but still... it will help me gain the kind of discipline that I will need to continue on in the many performing careers I plan to have! After the month is up I plan on adding a daily time to work on a monologue so I can constantly be growing in my acting as well. I miss my class with Bill Walters so much!! Need to be acting!!
Daily Practice Session

Technical Concepts - Today I went through the most recent lesson with Kurt for a warm-up and then jumped to an older one to do la-le-li-lo-lu as though I was teaching a class room... I really like that one because I consistently feel challenged and unsure of it... so until I get that solid I want to do that one everyday!
28 Minutes 

Repertoire - Today I worked on Be Still. I really love that song and the words mean so much to me. I re -lived my original lesson on it so I could touch base and get a better grip on the rhythm and just sort of went from there.
16 Minutes 

Successes – I feel like my middle voice is strong in that song but it is not super consistent. I was able to feel really relaxed in my middle voice today.

Areas for improvement – I have a really hard time stopping the voice gently after I have been singing out a note for awhile. I don't really know how to move on... I also have a hard time always hitting the same notes consistently... must just be weak... how long does it take to get strong?

Notes: I really want to work on this song in my next voice lesson.

Healthy Eating

Meal Description – I ate a really yummy salad for lunch. I had a smoothie right before Yoga and it was yummy! Helped with the class a lot! gave me lots of positive energy.

.....Awkward....

What did you most enjoy? – I love that for about an hour I was literally high on Yoga... it is my drug... nothing else can make you fell like that... well few things... I really enjoyed how hard Allisun made me work tonight and all the energy I got from the smoothie my sweetheart made me :) I also love it when Allisun and I are doing yoga poses right beside each other and I can hear her breathing and we sort of match... only for a minute because her breathing is so much better than mine. Anyways it is cool how in sync two bodies can be!

What did you find challenging and why? –
I realized how much weaker my left leg is... I always knew there was a little bit of a difference but tonight I could see that I really need to do some more physical therapy on that side because Warrior2 was particularly hard to hold tonight... kept having to straighten to release tension and then release back into the move.
 
Observations – Some girl fell asleep for a tiny bit tonight in class and was snoring and I know that I have definitley drifted in and out of sleep at the end in Savasana but I wonder if I have ever begun to snore...? probably not but...
