DAY NUMERO UNO!!

Alright! So far so good! Pretty sure this challenge is going to fly by! Today went really well except, that I will continually have to remind myself to document my life. I suck at taking pictures! Ate a healthy lunch full of frutis and veggies and totally didn't take any pictures! Also worked out today but forgot pics of that too! 
Lesson learned... be obsessive camera girl!!

Although I know this challenge is definitely going to be super hard. I feel blessed that a lot of this stuff I already do everyday... like eating healthy, yoga, and voice practice. That is why I will have to bump it up a notch!! I am glad that I will be taking a jazz class again. I will post info about it a.s.a.p. in case anyone is interested in coming with me :)

Vocal Practice
Technical Concepts -For vocal practice today I warmed up with the first twenty minutes of two different recordings from Kurt's lessons (these will probably be the basis of all my warm-ups). I did lip trills, goo-goo thingies, nay scales, muh scales, la-le-li-lo-lu, zi-ze-za-zo-zu scales, and two other things that I can't figure out how to describe so I will just call them la-la scales... 
40 minutes

Repertoire - I worked on Avril Lavigne's With You. Very fun. Good chest to head voice exercises! 
15 minutes

Repertoire - I also started looking at Here's Where I Stand from Camp because I always have that song in my head and so I would just like to actually know the words!
10 minutes

Successes – I feel like both songs are in my vocal range and that is good since I always choose songs that are not in my range! I love the different parts of the voice that these two songs work. Good pairing to work on together.

Areas for improvement – Breathe support (ALWAYS!), I need to try to sound like me while I sing songs instead of copying the exact expressions (noodles...?) from others. I am super weak in certain parts of my voice and I need to identify where those are so I can focus on them. The la-le-li-lo-lu points the weak points out a lot!

Notes: I need to get just an accompany to those two songs. Also need to pick the new song I am going to work on!!

Healthy Eating --
I feel this is going to be really hard to document because I feel like I eat really healthy in general... so should I be posting pics of everything I eat???? Also what is healthy for me is not always healthy for another... I know that sounds weird but seriously my body is most healthy the more I eat... My metabolism is crazy super speedy and so it is always a fight to keep up with it!  

For dinner tonight I made pork chops, butternut squash soup, and a romaine salad with carrots and red bell pepper with the best dressing ever... Paul Newman's Caesar.

Restaurant or Market –  Smith's & Trader Joe's
